After reading a post written by Virginia Dean titled “Should I Share The Wealth Or Keep ActiveRain A Secret In My Market” I thought I’d share my opinion. This topic has been discussed in the past, and every time I read a post about maintaining “the secret” it’s contradictory to one of the major benefits of ActiveRain, sharing of information.
How many times have you learned a new method or fact or law about the real estate business? How many times have you been tutored until you grasped the topic in hand? How many times has someone coached you or mentored you to help you excel in a phase of this business? So why would you want to keep that a secret?
Have you thought about the fact that as more seasoned agents join the ranks and participate on this platform, there will be more information shared and made available for all to use. The size of this group and the daily participation by so many makes ActiveRain a unique place to work, learn and do business.
An effort should be made to invite as many members as possible, in my opinion. I have extended an invitation to 90+ and 49 have accepted (some I strong armed!) There are probably only 12 to 15 who actually use the system and only 5 or 6 who blog consistently. To top it all off, there are points to be earned, and I’ve earned 146,000+ points from invitations and earn 10% of the members' points as they participate. Now, that’s not too shabby!!!!
