Buyer agents, are you being treated with the respect that you deserve? I’m not being facetious; I’m asking a serious question. There are too many listing agents who focus on selling their listings themselves. They act as a dual agent and represent no one in order to retain the entire commission.
I market for listings. My team members are listing agents, and if a buyer wants to go forth without representation, we will proceed to sell that buyer our listing but we represent the seller. We always maintain that position.
Dual agency does nothing for the seller. It’s a method of allowing the listing agent the opportunity to make a score and keep the entire commission. No one has representation. Everyone’s on a wing and a prayer, and the only winner in this equation is the real estate agent.
Buyers, do yourselves a favor, and hire a buyer’s agent to represent you in your transaction. There is no fee charged to the buyer. This results in everyone having representation, and this type of transaction is my idea of a “clean deal.” We'll always be available to assist you and your buyer's agent with a showing at any of our listings. That's our job.
