Do you ever have days when you feel like you're being surrounded by Philistines? I just wrote a post about buyers' agents feeling their "oats." Well, it doesn't end there.
This evening we received an offer on another one of our listings from a buyers' agent and the offer, along with the terms and conditions of the transaction, "demanded" that the buyers' agent be paid "more than 50% of the commission." Demanded!!! "It's not negotiable" is exactly how it was written. Now if the buyers' agent would only focus that strongly on the buyers' offer and not the commission, the deal would probably go together!!!
How do you think this sits with me? I can't believe what some buyers' agents think they can get away with. We're not paying a penny more than 50% of the commission to the buyers' agent. Here's another buyers' agent with his head in the sand and his hands in our sellers' pockets. Actually, I don't think this agent's head is in the sand....it's more accurately described as lodged rectally.
Unbelievable!!!!
