My team and I are listing agents. It’s very intimidating for newer agents to compete with seasoned agents for listings. Many young agents are accompanied by a seasoned agent for the first several listing presentations. This is one method of training a new agent to list.
Two agents who have the same listing presentation will present them differently. We each have our own style, and no two agents are identical in their approach. At what point does a new agent decide that it’s time to be weaned off the “mother agent?”
That first solo step is a stressful moment for a new agent. It’s the point at which an agent will know that this profession was the right choice. It’s the moment that a new agent feels confident and the insecurities are suppressed, at least during this first solo listing presentation.
When the agent has closed the listing and was told she was competing with two other agents, the adrenaline starts to flow. The first closed solo listing appointment is the “confidence builder” that every agent needs. It’s the starting point of a journey filled with passion that will ultimately lead to an agent’s very successful future.
