Christmas is just around the corner and it’s my favorite time of the year. It’s a time to remember those who are important to you in your personal life and in your business life. It’s a time to say “thank you.”
It’s also a time of the year when those who you have NOT done business with will stop by and give you gifts. How does that make you feel?
I wish they would NOT do that. It’s an attempt for those you did not hire for a mortgage, home inspection or closing to make you feel guilty and obligated to throw some business their way.
Causing one to feel obligated to provide business as a means of reciprocating for gifts is distasteful and annoying. If I want to do business with you, I’ll call you. If I need your help with a transaction, you’ll get the deal. If you don’t hear from me, it’s not because I don’t know how to find you. It’s because I’ve hired someone else. Please don’t make me feel guilty and obligated to use you because it's not going to happen. That’s not what giving at Christmas is about!!
