I decided to make some Paklava today for my daughter, Tammy, to share with her coworkers at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester MA; my office will get some; and we'll have some here for Christmas.
Baklava is Greek and is made throughout the Middle East. The Armenian version is Paklava.
A little history: The recipe calls for 40 sheets of fillo dough, which represents the 40 days of lent.
By the way, the Armenians were the first nation to accept the teachings of Christ and established the first Christian Church which was the Armenian Apostolic Church. This occurred in the year 0049 A.D.
Just in case you were wondering!!!! I know this is very important to all of you!!
