Margaret Rome, author of "Real Estate the Rome Way," wrote a post today titled "Are They 100% Sure They Want To List With Margaret Rome?" about a listing presentation she delivered. Reading this post made me think about how very competitive this side of the real estate business has become.
We are listing agents, and we know that when it's our turn, "it's show time." It's not a dress rehearsal. Does it matter to you whether you are first or last? My team members are never concerned about placement. The sellers may have many agents scheduled, and often, those appointments are canceled after we have met. If they interview many, we are all competing, and the one who provides the best marketing wins.
A listing presentation is a task that requires you to present what you provide for marketing that will attract the right buyer to purchase the home. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter how many designations you have. It doesn't matter how long you've been in the business. It doesn't matter with whom you hang your license. It's all about the marketing and what you will provide.
The seller may not realize this, but after the seller has had the opportunity to hear about your marketing; actually see the online presence of your inventory; and understand the importance of what you provide to sell their property, the listing will be yours. My team members rarely lose a listing to another agent.
Listing property is our niche. Listings are our focus. My team members have the confidence, and we provide marketing as no other agent in our area provides. Our results show that. It doesn't matter whether you are first or last. If your presentation is powerful, the listing will be yours.
