Are You Playing Follow The Leader? It's A Game That Has No Ending!!!

A good mentor leads by example.  A good mentor is a “do as I do, and do as I say” type person.  Who needs a mentor?

Everyone needs a mentor.  Mentors need a mentor.  There is a misconception that mentors are solely for newly licensed agents.  In my opinion, once you have a mentor, that mentor is forever.

Eventually, the agent will be on the same level as the mentor and that agent will go forth and become a mentor to another agent.  With this new scenario, mentor #1 will be needed more than ever.

Mentoring never stops, but if it should, learning will have also ceased.  Mentoring is an ongoing program that allows the mentor and the mentored the ability to gain strength in their respective roles, and for that reason, it should never end.

Successful Real Estate Offices Offer Good Mentoring.....Guidance Is Needed Today!!

Now, more than ever, mentoring is needed in real estate offices.  Mentoring is a method of guiding an agent through tough times.  Mentoring can be the deciding factor of whether an agent survives or dies on the vine.

I’ve been meeting spontaneously with a few agents in our office in Franklin Ma and offering mentoring.  They have all been very receptive and asking what they can do in return.  They don’t seem to understand that their success is a reward for everyone.

Mentoring will result in strengthening the agent’s ability to secure business, and it will boost the status of our real estate office in the community.  It’s a win-win for everyone.  The more business each agent can capture, the easier it will be for all agents in our office to close more Franklin MA listings.

The stronger the agents, the greater the visibility in the community.  This results in  more phone calls and transactions.  The more transactions, the greater the income and an increase in referrals.  Business will be thriving for everyone if we can all work in harmony.  If every agent in an office is productively working and closing business, each agent and the office will prosper.  Isn’t that the goal of every broker/owner/manager?  The key is in mentoring your agents.

When A Mentor Is A Friend...Good Advice Results!!!

Sometimes you need to just sit with someone within the same profession, with the same niche, and talk to that person about what is happening within your business.  It's a cross between mentoring and friendship.

I never mix business and personal.  At least, I make an effort to not mix the two, but there is always that special situation with which only a true friend can be trusted with information.

There is a point during that process of doing business whereby everything is happening at once, and the person it's happening to needs a sounding board to be assured that all thoughts are on track.

Decisions must be made and a game plan prepared.  The sounding board is a mechanism by which another professional opinion is heard, and the confidentiality is maintained because the professional is also a true friend.  One may need more than a mentor.  Sometimes a friend in the same profession can be your best mentor.
