"Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" Is the Song I Like To Hear During Negotiating!!!

When do you say “enough?”  Negotiating an offer can be a very frustrating task, as we all know.  The longer it takes to put a deal together, the less chance it has of going together!!!

I’ve heard stories of buyers and sellers tossing numbers back and forth for days in very small increments!!  Those situations rarely work well, and by the time the parties are close enough to make it happen, they hate each other to the point of no return.

I was always a listing agent and whenever we were faced with a buyer who dragged out the process and inched his way to a meeting point, it was always better to stop the negotiating.

I’m a firm believer that if someone wants a property, and you take it away from them, it’s a wake-up call.  The majority of the time they’ll rally and pick up the pace with a large jump in the numbers.  Those are the deals that go together.

Learning to say “stop-we’ve had enough” during negotiating is a smart move.  The buyer may go away and if that happens, consider it a blessing.  More often than not, telling the buyer to “start looking for other homes” will result in a closing.
