It’s all about the price of real estate today. There are buyers who are looking at real estate, and sellers who want to make sure they are not leaving any money on the table. There are many sellers who are priced above fair market. For the past couple of weeks, we have not seen much activity.
The plan of action was to adjust prices on all listings that have been on the market for 30 days. We had six homeowners adjust their list price, and the phone started ringing again. Agents have made many appointments for the weekend, and I’ve posted new blog posts about those price changes.
Some of our sellers were firm on not adjusting the price, but they all realized that sitting idly was not the way to move on to their next home. Adjusting prices is not an easy task for listing agents. The first answer is usually “no” but with additional “encouragement” our sellers always seem to meet us someone reasonably with this request.
Price dropping is not always a pleasant experience, but neither is going to the dentist. Sometimes dropping a price is just like pulling teeth, isn’t it??
