I’ve recently written a few posts about agents leaving an office for another or opening their own office. Another thought comes to mind about this topic. Since online marketing is in the forefront of marketing methods that are used today, another issue is removing or changing the current online information to display the agent’s current office.
Agents all have websites; blogging sites; Google places; and Google maps, to name just a few online sources that reflect the office with which that agent was previously affiliated. It would be considered a “forthright act” to remove all of the information including logo and address, immediately.
The way I see it, it’s in the past agent’s best interest to remove the past information quickly. That agent may find out that several of his/her calls have landed in the old office, and agents in the office are being given new potential clients because “being tricky sometimes works adversely.”
Good advice might be to not waste time in changing office names, addresses and logos. The agent may be shooting himself in the foot. I would love to be the one to continually reload that gun!! What goes around DOES come around, doesn’t it??
