After reading a post this morning by Gail Harris titled "Today's Tidbit...29 and Counting" it inspired me to share more of my thoughts on the many methods of marketing, and there are many methods. In my opinion, an agent needs to utilize more than one form of marketing, and there should be a marketing plan in place and followed conscientiously.
The most important factor in marketing is that all of your methods have some overlap and complement each other. There should be some type of harmony and balance with marketing methods. The focal point of my marketing is blogging for SEO. All of my blogs have a link to my website which is critical to marketing inventory and my team's presence. From my website, one would find a link to my outside blog and another to my Wordpress blogging site. Everything online is connected.
Direct mail marketing is another marketing method that I use consistently. Each postcard will display my website and outside blog address, and it doesn't matter what the theme of the postcard might be, it will display these addresses with the directions to: Read Barbara's Blogs. People always need direction, don't they??
Another form of advertising and diligent prospecting for my team members would be our weekly open house events. Displayed at each model home would be a brochure for that community, and on each cover one would find the addresses for our website and outside blog. Everything is interwoven and completely connected. One form of advertising compliments all of the others. It's tightly woven, and there are no loose ends. Each method promotes our inventory and us, but most importantly it encompasses an audience of Internet users and the non-technical community.
