Making the phone ring is such an overwhelming task, but that's the job we have as real estate agents. All real estate agents must market to make the phone ring, in order to survive. This is something about which I continually write.
Today, I wrote a blog about the #3 ranking of my team by RE/MAX of New England. My team is made up of two agents. That's probably the smallest team on that list of 25, but we each have our function, and if one person does not follow through or drops the ball, that could mean our missing a place on that list the following month.
My job is marketing for those two team members. My consistent blogging and direct mail marketing makes my phone ring. I can't say it any simpler than that. It makes my phone ring, and that gives us resale listings and buyers for our new construction communities.
If your phone is not ringing, change your marketing. Do something that will make it ring. Real estate is local, and what works for me, may not work for you. If there are transactions in your area, someone is doing something right. Find out what they are doing and follow suit, but do it better. Improve upon that method.
Making the phone ring is the most important job in the real estate business. Marketing is the name of the game. It will enable you to capture the listing market; receive buyer calls; and if you market to builders, you may add new communities to your inventory. There is no limit to marketing, and when it's done online, it's free. Free marketing via blogging is the best thing since Al Gore invented the Internet!!! Only kidding....but you get the point!!!
