How does an agent become comfortable with selling new construction? The very first step is to find a "mentor" who is well versed with the product, the methods and materials used to build the structure and the details needed to close a buyer. That's certainly a mouthful, but it's essential if you are interested in becoming an agent who sells this entity. 
The agent needs to shadow that mentor during showings and attend meetings with the buyer and the builder. Soak in as much information as you are capable of absorbing. While you are shadowing and absorbing, read as much information about new construction as you can find.
Active Rain is a great source for learning new construction. Join the New Home Sales Group within the Active Rain system and read their blogs. There is a wealth of knowledge within that group, with decades of experience, lead by its founder, Julie Chapman of Julie Chapman Real Estate in Brunswick, Georgia.
