It’s only 5:10 p.m. and after reading the compliments that Paul Henderson wrote about my blogging, I thought I’d better step it up a bit!! One of the commenters mentioned that he assumed that most of the posts were only listing posts.
When I read that comment I had to respond with my thoughts on that topic. In my opinion, the “guts” of blogging is about inventory. We want our sellers to feel that they have a wonderful presence online and what better way to prove that than to add a rider to their sign that says “Google This Address?” One would never post that rider if there were no blog posts to be found on the first page of a search for their address. My goal is to have at least 7 or 8 titles on the first page.
Mondays are devoted to blogging about our team inventory and new construction communities. I spend a significant amount of time writing those posts. It’s more time consuming for me to write posts about inventory than to write a narrative. The narrative takes me 15 minutes, maximum. The listing posts that I write may take up to a half hour, especially with the photo selections.
We should each do more inventory posts. They make the phone ring with buyer calls; they please the sellers; they allow us the opportunity to add the custom rider to our signs; and the exposure online directs other potential sellers to us. Those are enough reasons for me to continue to blog about our listings. Those are the most important blog posts that anyone can write, in my opinion.
