One of the earliest lessons that we teach our children, because we have learned it ourselves, is practicing The Golden Rule. This is a lesson in life that applies to both our personal and business lives. Each religion has its own version of The Golden Rule. Christianity teaches to "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You." Judaism teaches "What Is Hateful To You, Do Not Do To Others."
The real estate business is a vicious industry. It's survival of the fittest, and it's very easy for agents to put their teachings aside without even considering the results it may have on others. Competitiveness is in the forefront, and the winner takes all. It's a difficult task, at times, to remember the Golden Rule and to maintain that luster. But remember, Real Gold Doesn't Tarnish.
