I'm a life-long resident of the Town of Franklin. This has been home to me from day one except for college years (and those were spent in Maine.) I taught in Franklin prior to my real estate career, and I've been selling real estate in Franklin since 1978.
During the 1990's, Franklin grew at a rate of over 100%, and my new construction subdivisions provided housing for the rapid influx of newcomers to our town. New construction literally put the town of Franklin on the map in the ‘90's, and I was fortunate enough to be the agent who listed the majority of that new product. Franklin, at one point, was named the fastest growing community in the country.
During that rapid growth period, the only marketing that was needed was MLS. Neither open houses nor print advertising was necessary. The homes were selling fast during that growth spurt; the builders were consistently at least two homes behind in construction. They just couldn't keep up. It's fun to reminisce

Franklin has a current population of 32,878 according to the 2009 census. Future population is expected to be roughly 40,000. Manufacturing and Retail trade are the leading industries in Franklin and the Tri-Center region. Predominantly a manufacturing town, Franklin is host to nationally known firms such as EMC, Garelick Farms and Draka USA. The town of Franklin enjoys great transportation networks. Rte 140, Rte 495 and major routes such as the Mass Pike, Rte 1 and I-95 are very close. Most importantly, Franklin is host to two MBTA commuter rail stations to Boston. This enables our residents to work in Boston without the hassle of driving in bumper to bumper traffic everyday. The "T" is one of the major marketing features for new home owners considering a purchase in Franklin.
