Working Under Pressure Can Be Advantageous

I wrote a blog yesterday titled "Doom And Gloom Is Not Allowed In Our Office...Is It In Yours?"  Paul Henderson responded with the comment, "That was what I found when I became a RE/MAX agent. The water cooler folk didn't exist as at my old office. The synergy that exists is positive from the moment you walk through the door."

Of course, he made me start thinking about his comment and how very true that statement happens to be.  It's not because he referred to a RE/MAX office, because there are many firms that run similarly to RE/MAX.  The difference between a conventional office, where the agents are on a split and are not required to pay a fee, and an office that requires a fee but the agent makes the majority or even 100% of the commission, is the reason for the difference in attitude and performance.

When an agent is under the gun and the burden is on that agent to produce, in order to pay the bills at home and at work, it's mandatory that the agent think properly, get on track with consistent marketing and produce unfailingly.  There is an advantage to working under pressure.  Agents who have that financial responsibility to produce are committed to working the system properly and being assured that they continually see light at the end of the tunnel.
