Buyer agents are a staple in our industry. The majority of buyers hire a buyers' agent to represent them, and if they don't, they quickly learn that they should. My team and I are listing agents, and buyer agents are a staple on our real estate menu every day. Buyer agents keep us alive.
Our niche is new construction, and we are continually offering assistance to buyers' agents with anything they need in regard to our inventory. The path of least resistance is what works best for all agents, and if a listing agent makes life easy for a buyers' agent, that agent will always come back for more.
Rather than treating this very important component of our real estate diet as if it were tainted food, listing agents should accommodate buyers' agents. Remember, they have the majority of the buyers, you don't.
It's always "sweet to have a list/sell" if the buyer waives the option of hiring representation, but we must balance our diet to have a healthy real estate career.
Attempting to live on a sugar only diet will end a life in real estate very quickly. Learn to co-broke....it will save your life.
