We’ve all heard the old adage of “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.”How many times have we shown a buyer a property that we knew the location was a detriment to the property.Decades ago I learned a lesson about not expressing my opinion.
I showed a young couple a property that was on a side street but only one lot in from a state highway, and it was also across the street from retail stores. The location was horrible, and I did show them homes in very nice subdivisions. This home in the tough location had been on the market for a year.Wonder why!!!
They loved the property, and I fortunately kept my mouth shut. Thirty years later, they are still occupying that same property. They added sq. footage to the home with an addition plus several dormers. They had children who were brought up there. Those children are now adults and have their own children.
How many times have you expressed your opinion and lost a deal for you and a home for your buyers. We each have different needs and have attraction to different homes and locations.Everyone is unique, and we can neither judge others nor can we make decisions for them.Keep your opinion to yourself, and you’ll find it works in your favor.
