Enthusiasm is contagious. If you're trying to sell a product, you need to show some passion about your product. I've always thought of new construction as the ideal piece of merchandise to market because everyone loves a new home. My enthusiasm for new construction began with that first sale and 32 years later, I still have it.
Have you ever listed a property that you did not like? I mean really did not like. That happened to me once, and it took forever to sell. That was the last property that I ever listed without being about. I would refer all future homes that did not thrill me. If you do not like the home, your opinion of value will be less, and you will not present that property well. It's doing the homeowner an injustice.
Have you ever visited an open house that was being hosted by an agent who did not want to be there? Now that's what I call a total waste of three hours. If an agent is disinterested and shows no enthusiasm for that task at hand, it's time to lock it up and go home.
Real estate sales are based on the Law of Karma which states according to Buddhist teachings that "for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first." Work with enthusiasm, as if you liked what you were doing, and the rewards will follow. Work in real estate with a bad attitude, and you'll never see another closing. It's the Law of Karma!!
