In this ever changing real estate market, we need to work it as if we were attending a smorgasbord. Some of us have a niche market and we enjoy working that sector, but in today's ever so competitive real estate environment, we need to broaden our horizons. New construction is my niche and has always provided me with inventory and income. However, this is a market as no other in previous times.
It's time for all of us to become involved in participating in other phases of the industry that we have not had full involvement because our niche marketing was sufficient, at the time. New construction will always be on my plate, but there is room for more. The cream of the crop is limited today, but we must continue to work it. The various other phases such as short sales, investment properties and rentals should all be within range of you to serve yourself a generous helping of those entities.
Our niche will always remain intact, but we cannot be shortsighted. Expand your marketing to include many other options beyond your niche. This is a viable way to improve your market share and increase your income. Remember, real estate is the world's most abundantly, plentiful smorgasbord. No one should have an empty plate.
