Real estate is a profession that demands self promotion and being in full view of the public eye. We ring out loud with all our success stories, and we continually endorse ourselves. The old adage "out of sight, out of mind" is a true statement. I've witnessed seasoned agents removing themselves from view and losing business as a result. We're damned if we do, and damned if we don't. Quite often humility becomes the forgotten virtue in the real estate profession. 
Humility comes with many definitions. Some people interpret humility as a lack of self confidence or timidity. Others believe it to be an indicator that you are not superior to your colleagues. Humility is a required ingredient in the recipe for leadership. When you direct your ego away from yourself and toward leading others, success will be near.
