Yesterday, I received a call from Phoenix, Arizona, and this caller shared with me that he owns a single family home in Franklin, Ma. He also relayed that he called me because he has been receiving my postcards for the past ten years. What was most pleasing about this call was not the fact that I would be handling the sale of his home but the compliment that he sent my way.
He is a retired art professor with a college in Massachusetts and also owned a graphic arts and marketing company during that time. This client told me that my marketing materials were outstanding and that the persistent mailings every month for years earned me another listing. That was the best news I could have heard yesterday. We all need some positive reinforcement and that was mine.
The moral to this story is to keep marketing. If the phone does not ring one month, just keep marketing. It will all pay off at some point. It will all average out to a positive cash flow. Remember, continual marketing is what earned me this listing, just as tireless, perpetual blogging earned me a sale and a listing last weekend. Success does not happen overnight. It takes time, persistence and endurance to play a successful game of real estate.
