How many people do you mentor during the course of a day? One does not need to be a manager to mentor. Anyone can mentor, if that individual has knowledge about a topic and is willing to share that knowledge. Imagine how simplified and how much more enjoyable working in the real estate profession would be for some agents, if everyone accepted the role of mentoring.
Mentoring can be accomplished in person or by phone. I mentor my team members and not all are in my office. One of my team members is mentored by phone, and it works very well. I mentor other agents within my office on Internet marketing. Very few in my town are marketing online, so when an agent in our office is interested in doing this task, it's very exciting.
The more information one can share with others, the greater the understanding of a topic and the more efficiently one will work through the task. Mentoring should be considered a significant part of our daily work routine. It's a way to make a difference in our industry. We all need mentoring. So, who have you mentored today?
