Agent To Agent Is The Winning Team......It's A Home Run

Winston Churchill said "We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give."

Now, more than ever, real estate agents need to mentor each other and provide support for each other.  I just heard a prediction on the news this morning that real estate in 2011 will be the worst in the past decade.  That's not too encouraging.

My first thoughts were that many in our firm would be falling to the wayside or eliminated by management.  An agent who is not self-supporting and does not have to produce and puts no effort into the business is considered an expense to the office.  The broker/owner will have no choice other than to offer an association and pay referral fees for any business referred.  It's good business, and it's the only option.

There has to be a minimum income that is acceptable and any amount less requires attention by the broker/owner.  We'll be witnessing more of that next year.  For those who remain in the business, mentoring will come into play more often.  The risk of losing business is too great today to not seek advice from more experienced agents and management.

Do you have a mentor ready to assist you with situations for which you are unprepared?  Are you too proud to ask for help?  Is asking for assistance a reflection of weakness?  I'm a mentor to many within my office and also my competitors outside of my office!!!  It's a good feeling to be trusted by others.

"What goes around comes around" and I have asked for assistance with forming an "open house team" and from a competitor!!  We need to respect and work with each other when times are tough.  When an agent asks for assistance, take it as a great compliment that you were asked, and step up to the plate.  If they don't ask, but it's evident that they need help, offer.  You'll feel like a hero watching someone succeed because of your efforts.
