One of the important inserts in every listing presentation brochure is a resume. Providing a listing presentation is comparable to interviewing for a job. You're asking to be hired to sell a home. One would never interview for a new job without submitting an updated resume. Although, I have to interject that of 10 interviews that I may hold at RE/MAX, only half of the agents will have a resume. I always require that they create one, and I assure you, I won't hire that person, but I think I'm doing them a favor by requiring that they provide one.
It always amazes me that one who interviews for a sales position would assume they do not need a resume, and the same is true for a listing presentation. One must think very highly of themselves to suggest that the seller doesn't need to read a resume and know the details of their background and previous real estate experience before being granted their listing.
Your resume does not have to be professionally created, but it should at least have the following categories described:
A Mission Statement
Real Estate Experience
Education
Achievements
Professional Organizations
Website and Blogging Site Addresses
All of this information should be concise and presented on one page. This document should be inserted in your listing presentation and is very important. It could be the deciding factor between you and another agent who does not have a resume. Don't take this lightly. A resume is a description of your ability to sell their home, and isn't that what every seller wishes to be assured of?
