I'm continually hearing about agents who are attempting to use the "team concept" as a crutch that will support them because of their declining business. Forming a team for the wrong reason is a formula for a speedy demise.
This topic has had plenty of mileage on ActiveRain, so my point will be made quickly. Unless there is a good reason to form a team, go to plan B. The team concept works well for those who have a plan in place and a reason for having a team.
There are plenty of reasons such as planning for retirement; expanding your marketplace; reducing your work-load; or just changing your job description to a referring agent, to name just a few.
Creating a team can be a worthwhile venture if done properly. Good business decisions happen with proper planning
