After reading a post by Michael Thornton titled "Time Blocking and Blogging" it made me think about the organization skills and discipline exercised by many agents. I think the majority in this industry have good intentions. To go forth and apply those time management principles that are shared by others in our industry is an ongoing process. Again, our intentions are always good.
Most agents continually attend courses and seminars that provide guidelines and assistance with managing time. We are given samples of time lines and daily tasks that may apply to our business plan. Again, most have good intentions of using this information.
Real estate agents are creatures of habit, but those habits are formed because of priorities. At any one time, one thing is more important than another. One task is more enjoyable than another. For those who do not like writing, blogging will never work properly because it's unrealistic to think that a task that is not enjoyable will be repeated consistently.
If one has found an enjoyable function and it continues to work for them, it automatically becomes a priority in their daily routine. That task will be performed consistently with added improvement until it becomes a way of life and a natural daily event. If that's what blogging has become, it's because you allowed it to happen. You make sure the "blogging time" during your day is "blocked" for that undertaking. You enjoy that mission, and everyday it becomes a "mission accomplished" that continually provides positive reinforcement for you, the writer, and additional strength for your business.

One of the most important skills to be mastered in the real estate business is how to use your time most efficiently. Time management skills require a continual process of fine tuning. Every task has attached to it many methods for performing it. Tasks that have become time consuming need to be reviewed and revised to reduce the amount of time required to accomplish that particular job.
