After reading and responding to many comments on a post I wrote titled "Need To Balance Your Time? Listing Agents Can Do That" I need to somewhat neutralize that post with another thought. I continue to be of the opinion that listings are the name of the game. However, I am not discounting the value of a well versed, highly skilled buyers' agent.
Without buyers' agents we, as listing agents, are sitting in a boat in the middle of the lake without any paddles. We are listing agents who are stranded on our own little island with no way off. Without buyer agents, we are between a stone and a hard place.
A good listing agent will always market to buyer agents. We are the store with the inventory. The buyers' agents have the buyers with the money to buy our product. There's no point in stocking the shelves, if there are no buyers. This process cannot be one sided.
The value of a good buyers' agent is worth his/her weight in gold, in my book. My team cannot do without them, and there is always a need for a well versed buyers' agent in the real estate business. If listing skills are not working well for you, and not everyone is destined to become a listing agent, then you should enroll in an ABR designation course, and work with buyers as a buyers' agent. My team members are always happy to hear from a buyers' agent. You're our ticket for that direct flight to the closing table!!!
