We all know how important signage has always been in the real estate business. Potential buyers often ride through neighborhoods and new subdivisions to get a feel for the area. Today, signs are important but what’s more important to us is the custom rider that we have sitting on the top bar of our sign post. The rider says “Google this address.”
Today, a buyer from another part of the state was in our area and decided to ride through a few neighborhoods. This potential buyer will be relocating soon to this area from western Massachusetts and happened to drive into a new area in which we have one new listing that’s under construction. The address was lot #3 Camden Way Franklin MA.
The potential buyer Googled the address as he sat in his car in front of the home. He read a blog post or two or three or maybe all 6 or 7 on the first page, and then he called Lorraine to meet him there and show him the house.
Sometimes things work just like magic. Lorraine answered (as she always does) and met him there within minutes. He wants to show it to his wife, and he wants to work with Lorraine whether he buys this home or not.
What did we do before smart phones? How did we survive? Life was not as easy, and we didn’t make as much money!!! Now, because of iphones and other smart phones, a buyer can sit in front of our listings and check them out online without going into the house, just by Googling the address. If they like what they see online, they call us, and we show them the property.
And another thing….if you "blog consistently" on many platforms, and you have many titles on the first page of an address search, order some “Google This Address” riders. They’re just as valuable as your smart phone!!!!
